JDS reveals interior and courtyard views of SHoP-designed American Copper Buildings

The team behind the American Copper Buildings–JDS Development Group and SHoP Architects–teased a few interior renderings of the rental back in August, but now the project’s full site is live and there’s a slew of images of the SHoP-designed model apartments, as well as never-before-seen renderings of SCAPE Landscape Architecture’s courtyard plaza. Along with these new views comes news from Curbed that though listings for the 600 market-rate units aren’t available yet, (160 others became available through an affordable housing lottery) rents will start at $2,800/month for studios, $4,100/month for one-bedrooms, and $6,800/month for two-bedrooms.

In addition to designing the exterior (which is made up of 4.25 million pounds of copper), SHoP designed the interiors to be just as luxe. They’ll feature 10-foot ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows, Miele appliances, statuary marble counters and backsplashes in the kitchen, and black pearl stone floor tiles and full-length built-in medicine cabinets in the master bathrooms.

The public plaza serves as an entryway into the building and boasts a central rock fountain.

Of course, the true highlight of the building is its three-level, amenity-filled skybridge. Hovering 300 feet above the ground, it will hold three private terraces atop it. On the 28th floor will be a 75-foot lap pool with an adjacent hot tub, a sauna, marble Hammam with plunge pool, and a juice bar. Split between the 28th and 29th floors will be the fitness center, complete with rock climbing wall, squash court, and boxing gym.

Other amenities include a children’s playroom, screening room, demo kitchen and dining area, a rooftop infinity pool, porte cochère with on-site valet parking for the underground lot, and a personalized app to manage all these amenities.

Prospective renters will be able to visit a gallery after the new year, when listings are expected to hit. Find future listings for 626 First Avenue on CityRealty.
