Walker Tower – JDS Development

JDS Development’s managing partner Michael Stern has stated that the full-scale retrofit of the iconic Art Deco Verizon Building will turn the former commercial space into one of the “finest residential buildings” in NYC—and strong sales thus far seem to support his claim. Stern took a risk on this purchase, making it on the same day Lehman Brothers collapsed, sending the economy into turmoil. Walker Tower is now being beautifully revitalized by JDS Development Group with new luxury condos starting on the eighth floor of the building. While taking full advantage of the prominent exterior that Walker created with its curtain-like brick façade, the firm is also transforming the interiors into state-of-the-art, classic residences that cater to the tastes of contemporary luxury condo buyers.
